Las Vegas gets talked about a lot, but not always with much depth. There’s no shortage of flashy influencer videos, angry Reddit threads, and social media hot takes. What’s harder to find is thoughtful commentary from people who’ve actually worked in the industry.
That’s why I’m starting Las Vegas Footnotes.
This blog is about context. I’m not here to sell you Vegas, and I’m not here to dunk on it either. I’ve spent over 15 years in technology and management roles in hospitality and regulated industries. I’ve been in the trenches with operators, vendors, and the systems that actually run things.
Sometimes I’ll use this space to explain how things work. Sometimes I’ll push back on narratives that oversimplify or mislead. And sometimes I’ll just write about something I find interesting, whether it’s a company policy, a tech implementation, or a bit of Vegas nuance that deserves a footnote.
The goal is simple: more signal, less noise.
If that’s your kind of thing, I’m glad you’re here.
